This application report describes the use of Timer_A3 to decode RC5 and SIRC TV IR remote control SIGNALs. The decoder described in this report is interrupt-driven and operates a background function using specific features the Timer_A3. Only a small portion of the MSP430 CPU?s nonreal-time resources is used. Specific hardware bit-latching capabilities of the Timer_A3 module are used for real-time decoding of the IR data signal, independent and asynchronous to the CPU. CPU activity and power consumption are kept to an absolute minimum level. The Timer_A3 decoder implementation also allows other tasks to occur simultaneously if required. The solutions provided are written specifically for MSP430x11x(1) and MSP430x12x derivatives, but can be adapted to any other MSP430 incorporating Timer_A3. 電視遙控器設計基於MSP430

A digital fi‘equeney meter designed with FPGA development software Q-~us 11 is introduced．The 1 Hz—l MHz input measured pulse SIGNALs of the digital ii‘equency meter can be used for measuring frequency，period，pulse width and duty ratio，etc．The test results stably display O71 3 seven—segment numeric tubes，and the measuring ranges may be switched over automatically．The measuring error is equal to or less than 0．1％．

This demonstration illustrates the application of adaptive filters to signal separation using a structure called an adaptive line enhancer (ALE). In adaptive line enhancement, a measured signal x(n) contains two SIGNALs, an unknown signal of interest v(n), and a nearly-periodic noise signal eta(n). The goal is to remove the noise signal from the measured signal to obtain the signal of interest.

Sensing in autonomous vehicles is a growing field due to a wide array of military and reconnaissance applications. The Adaptive Communications and SIGNALs Processing Group (ACSP) research group at Cornell specializes in studying various aspects of autonomous vehicle control. Previously, ACSP has examined video sensing for autonomous control. Our goal is to build on their previous research to incorporate audio source tracking for autonomous control.
