This function returns NULL when called for an MDI main frame window (CMDIFrameWnd). In an MDI application, the MDI main frame window does not have a view associated with it. Instead, each individual child window (CMDIChildWnd) has one or more associated views. The active view in an MDI application can be obtained by first finding the active MDI child window and then finding the active view for that child window.

ExcpHook is an open source (see license.txt) Exception Monitor for Windows made by Gynvael Coldwind (of Team Vexillium). t uses a ring0 driver to hook KiExceptionDispatch procedure to detect the exceptions, and then shows information about the exception on stdout (using the ring3 part of the program ofc). The difference between this method, and the standard debug API method it that this method monitores all of XP processes, and the program does not have to attach to any other process to monitor it, hence it s harder to detect. The code currently is considered as ALPHA, and it has been reported to BSoD sometimes (on multi core/cpu machines). Take Care!

Swfdec still is development software, but has also followed a rigid no-crashes-allowed policy. Addfilter is a command-line application which adds and removes filter drivers for a given drive or volume. It is intended to demonstrate how to insert a filter driver into the driver stack of a device. The sample illustrates how to do this by using the SetupDi APIs. The sample works on the x86 platform. It has only been tested in a 32-bit environment. Since Addfilter is not a driver, it does not deal with Plug and Play or Power Management.
