This book presents, in a unitary and novel perspective, some of the research work the authors have carried out over the last decade, along with several collaborators and students. The roots of this book can be traced back to the design of adaptive sequence detection algorithms for channels with parametric uncertainty. The explosion of turbo codes and iterative decoding around the middle of the Nineties has motivated the design of iterative (turbo and graph-based) detection algorithms.

The radio spectrum is one of the most precious resources which must be managed to ensure efficient access for the wireless communication services which use it. The allocation and management of spectrum are administered by the regulatory authorities. Traditionally, spectrum allocation is carried out exclusively of its use in large geographic areas and assigning frequency bands to specific users or service providers is proved to be inefficient. Recently, substantial knowledge about dynamic spectrum access scheme has been accumulated to enable efficient spectrum sharing.

The continuing explosive growth in mobile communication is demanding more spectrally efficient radio access technologies than the prevalent second generation (2G) systems such as GSM to handle just the voice traffic. We are already witnessing high levels of mobile penetration exceeding 70% in some countries. It is anticipated that by 2010 more than half of all communications will be carried out by mobile cellular networks. On the other hand, the information revolution and changing life habits are bringing the requirement of commu- nicating on a multimedia level to the mobile environment. But the data handling capabilities and flexibility of the 2G cellular systems are limited.

There exist two essentially different approaches to the study of dynamical systems, based on the following distinction: time-continuous nonlinear differential equations ⇋ time-discrete maps One approach starts from time-continuous differential equations and leads to time-discrete maps, which are obtained from them by a suitable discretization of time. This path is pursued, e.g., in the book by Strogatz [Str94]. 1 The other approach starts from the study of time-discrete maps and then gradually builds up to time-continuous differential equations, see, e.g., [Ott93, All97, Dev89, Has03, Rob95]. After a short motivation in terms of nonlinear differential equations, for the rest of this course we shall follow the latter route to dynamical systems theory. This allows a generally more simple way of introducing the important concepts, which can usually be carried over to a more complex and physically realistic context.

对某四轮独立驱动电动汽车轮毂电机进行研究,设计一种永磁无刷直流电机控制器.以STM32F103RBT6芯片为基础,对电机驱动电路、采样电路和保护电路分别进行硬件设计与分析;同时,采用模块化软件设计方案,对该控制器的软件系统进行升级.实验验证表明:所设计的电机控制器能使电机响应迅速、转速稳定、无超调,且电动车动力输出性能良好.A permanent magnet brushless direct current motor controller was designed by studying the hub motor of a four-wheel independent drive electric vehicle.Based on STM32 F103RBT6 chip,the hardware design and analysis of motor drive circuit,sampling circuit and protection circuit were carried out respectively.At the same time,modular software design scheme was adopted to upgrade the software system of the controller.Experimental results show that the designed motor controller can ensure the motor fast response,stable speed,no overshoot,and good power output performances.
