MPI stands for the Message Passing Interface. Written by the MPI Forum (a large committee comprising of a cross-section between industry and research representatives), MPI is a standardized API Typically used for parallel and/or distributed computing. The MPI standard is comprised of 2 documents: MPI-1 (published in 1994) and MPI-2 (published in 1996). MPI-2 is, for the most part, additions and extensions to the original MPI-1 specification. The MPI-1 and MPI-2 documents can be downloaded from the official MPI Forum web site: http://www.mpi-forum.org/. Open MPI is an open source, freely available implementation of both the MPI-1 and MPI-2 documents. The frequency domain plays an important role in image processing to smooth, enhance, and detect edges of images. Although image data Typically does not include imaginary values, the fast Fourier transform (FFT) has been used for obtaining spectra. In this paper, the fast Hartley transform (FHT) is used to transform two-dimensional image data. Because the Hartley transform is real valued, it does not require complex operations. Both spectra and autocorrelations of two-dimensional ultrasound images of normal and abnormal livers were computed.

Abstract—Stable direct and indirect decentralized adaptive radial basis neural network controllers are presented for a class of interconnected nonlinear systems. The feedback and adaptation mechanisms for each subsystem depend only upon local measurements to provide asymptotic tracking of a reference trajectory. Due to the functional approximation capabilities of radial basis neural networks, the dynamics for each subsystem are not required to be linear in a set of unknown coeffi cients as is Typically required in decentralized adaptive schemes. In addition, each subsystem is able to adaptively compensate for disturbances and interconnections with unknown bounds.
