RADIO Frequency Identifi cation (RFID) technology usesradiated and refl ected RF power to identify and track avariety of objects. A typical RFID system consists of areader and a transponder (or tag). An RFID reader containsan RF transmitter, one or more antennas and an RFreceiver. An RFID tag is simply an uniquely identifi ed ICwith an antenna.

Abstract: This application note discusses the development and deployment of 3G cellular femtocell base stations. The technicalchallenges for last-mile residential connectivity and adding system capacity in dense urban environments are discussed, with 3Gfemtocell base stations as a cost-effective solution. Maxim's 3GPP TS25.104-compliant transceiver solution is presented along withcomplete RADIO reference designs such as RD2550. All 3G and GSM specifications have a 3GPP specification number consisting of 4 or 5 digits. (e.g. 09.02 or 29.002). The first two digits define the series as listed in the table below. They are followed by 2 further digits for the 01 to 13 series or 3 further digits for the 21 to 55 series.
