Introduction Computer security is undeniably important, and as new vulnerabilities are discovered and exploited, the perceived need for new security solutions grows. "Trusted computing" initiatives propose to solve some of today s security problems through hardware changes to the personal computer. Changing hardware design isn t inherently suspicious, but the leading trusted computing proposals have a high cost: they provide security to users while giving third parties the power to enforce policies on users computers against the users wishes -- they let others pressure you to hand some control over your PC to someone else. Description The art galleries of the new and very futuristic building of the Center for Balkan Cooperation have the form of polygons (not necessarily convex). When a big exhibition is organized, watching over all of the pictures is a big security concern. Your task is that for a given gallery to write a program which finds the surface of the area of the floor, from which each point on the walls of the gallery is visible. To review what a metaball is, and how to render them and to describe a new optimization I ve made for rendering metaballs. For complex scenes, it can render hundreds of times faster, though I m certain others have discovered this trick as well. It does very slightly change the characteristic shape of the blobs, but there is no loss in image quality whatsoever. (I actually developed all this about two years ago, but just now felt like writing it all down, and had the time!)
