The LPC1700 Ethernet block contains a full featured 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps Ethernet MAC (Media Access Controller) designed to provide optimized performance through the use of DMA hardware acceleration. Features include a generous suite of control registers, half or full duplex operation, flow control, control frames, hardware acceleration for transmit retry, receive packet filtering and wake-up on LAN activity. Automatic frame transmission and reception with Scatter-Gather DMA off-loads many operations from the CPU.

The CAT28LV64 is a low voltage, low power, CMOS Parallel EEPROM organized as 8K x 8−bits. It requires a simple interface for in−system programming. The PCA9541 is a 2-to-1 I2C-bus master selector designed for high reliability dual masterI2C-bus applications where system operation is required, even when one master fails orthe controller card is removed for maintenance. The two masters (for example, primaryand back-up) are located on separate I2C-buses that connect to the same downstreamI2C-bus slave devices. Either master at any time can gain control of the slavedevices if the other master is disabled or removed from the system.
