One nRF9E5 Evaluation board (receiver) should be programmed with the hex-file generated from assembling this file and the other Evaluation board (transmitter) programmed with the hex-file generated from assembling ex2a-tx433.asm. All switches on the DIP-swith S206 on the receiver must be set to the "on" position and all switches on the DIP-swith S205 on the transmitter must be set to the "on" position. When one of the switched SW1-SW4 on the transmitter is pressed the corresponding LED on the receiver is turned on. The functionality is the same as in ex2c-rx.c.

The goal of this thesis is the development of traffic engineering rules for cellular packet radio networks based on GPRS and EDGE. They are based on traffic models for typical mobile applications. Load generators, representing these traffic models, are developed and integrated into a simulation environment with the prototypical implementation of the EGPRS protocols and models for the radio channel, which were also developed in the framework of this thesis. With this simulation tool a comprehensive performance Evaluation is carried out that leads to the traffic engineering rules.

A large body of computer-aided techniques has been developed in recent years to assist in the process of modeling, analyzing, and designing communication systems . These computer-aided techniques fall into two categories: formula-based approaches, where the computer is used to evaluate complex formulas, and simulation-based approaches, where the computer is used to simulate the waveforms or signals that flow through the system. The second approach, which involves “waveform”-level simulation (and often incorporates analytical techniques), is the subject of this book. Since performance Evaluation and trade off studies are the central issues in the analysis and design of communication systems, we will focus on the use of simulation for evaluating the performance of analog and digital communication systems with the emphasis on digitalcommunication systems.
